John Lloyd, Sarah to be crowned Box-Office King & Queen 2009

The box-office supremacy of John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo will be affirmed once more with their coronation as Box-Office King and Queen at the RCBC Plaza along Ayala Ave., Makati City. They were proclaimed as such on the basis of the box-office earnings of their movie “You Changed My Life” which reportedly raked in more than P200 million.

Sarah, a prized Viva entertainment artist, also won two other coveted awards.

The Box-Office Entertainment Awards is given annually by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation, headed by Mrs. Corazon M. Samaniego.

The other awardees are: Christopher de Leon, Film Actor of the Year; Sharon Cuneta, Film Actress of the Year; Richard Gutierrez, Prince of Philippine Movies & TV; KC Concepcion, Princess of Philippine Movies & TV; Gary Valenciano, Male Concert Performer of the Year; Sarah Geronimo, Female Concert Performer of the Year; Martin Nievera, Male Recording Artist of the Year; Sarah Geronimo, Female Recording Artist of the Year; Sponge Cola, Most Popular Recording Performing Group; Moymoy Palaboy, Most Popular Novelty Singer; Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu, Most Popular Love Team of Movies and Television; Aljur Abrenica, Most Promising Male Star (Movies and TV); KC Concepcion, Most Promising Female Star (Movies and TV); Bugoy Drilon, Most Promising Male Singer; KC Concepcion, Most Promising Female Singer; You’ve Got Male, Most Promising Recording/Performing Group; EB Babes, Most Popular Dance Group; Robert “Buboy” Villar, Most Popular Child Actor (Movies and TV); Sharlene San Pedro, Most Popular Child Actress (Movies and TV); Star Cinema, Most Popular Film Producer; Raz Sobida Dela Torre/Wenn Deramas, Most Popular Screenwriter; Cathy Garcia Molina, Most Popular Film Director; “Dyesebel,” Most Popular TV Program; and Bb. Special Milestone Awardees are: Eugene Domingo, Bert Marcelo Award; Vic Sotto/Dolphy, Comedy Box Office King/s; Ai Ai Delas Alas, Comedy Box Office Queen; Richard Gutierrez/Marian Rivera, Valentine Box Office King and Queen; Charice Pempengco/Arnel Pineda, Outstanding Global Achievement by a Filipino Artist; Dingdong Dantes/Marian Rivera, Phenomenal Love Team; and Francis Magalona, Special Merit Award for Music (Posthumous Award).
